What is the Currents game?
Currents is a fill-the-grid path puzzle. Each board is a small grid holding a handful of numbered gates. Starting on gate 1, you drag a single continuous line — the current — through the grid, one orthogonal step at a time. The line may never cross itself, it must flow through the gates in ascending order, and when it lands on the highest number the very last empty cell must fill with it. One line, every cell, numbers in order: that is the whole game.
The rules take seconds to learn, but each board is a genuine routing problem: a wrong early turn can strand a corner cell or trap the line against a gate it is not yet allowed to enter. How to play
- Start on gate 1. Every current rises at the amber 1. Press it to take hold of the line — the timer starts with your first move.
- Drag through every cell. Extend the line up, down, left, or right into neighboring cells. The current may never cross itself, and a finished board leaves no cell untouched.
- Pass the gates in order. The line must flow through 2 before 3, 3 before 4, and so on. A gate reached too early blocks the current and shakes — find another way around.
- Finish on the highest gate. Land on the last number exactly as the final cell fills. Drag backwards to undo, tap the highest gate you have reached to clear, or spend a hint if the river runs dry.

How hard do the puzzles get?
The daily puzzle follows a weekly ramp: Monday is a gentle 4×4 grid and the boards grow through the week to a 7×8 on Sunday, with more gates as the grid grows. The numbered library climbs the same ladder every seven puzzles, and unlimited mode leans toward mid-size boards. Small grids teach the logic; large ones make you plan the whole river before you draw.
What does the hint button do?
The lightbulb checks your current line against the solution. If your line is on the right track, it lights up the next cell the current should flow into. If you have already gone wrong, it tells you to backtrack instead of leading you further astray. Each hint counts toward your finishing rank, so a hint-free solve earns the top title.
Are the puzzles original?
Yes. Every board here is generated and verified by our own puzzle engine: each one is proven to have a full-grid route that meets its gates in order before it is ever served. Nothing is copied from Netflix or any other puzzle source.
Does my progress save?
Yes. Your line, your solving streak, and your best times are saved locally in your browser, so you can leave mid-puzzle and pick the route back up later. Clearing your browser data resets them. If you sign in, your streak and stats also sync to your account so they follow you across devices.
